Starfield can be made to run at 120 frames per second on Xbox Series S, although with some compromises in visual quality that some may not be ready to make.
As shown by Fuzion Xbox Testing in a new video, the latest role-playing game by Bethesda can hit the 120 FPS mark in some scenarios on the Xbox Series S with the help of a few mods, such as Uncap FPS for Series S, Performance Tweaks, Performance Shadows, Remove Grass, Crowd Reducer and No God Rays. Even with the resolution reduced to 720p by the Performance Tweaks mod and the turning down of multiple graphics settings, the console can’t keep a steady framerate, so the experience won’t be exactly smooth, but it is definitely worth a try, even just to experience high framerate gameplay on the weakest current generation console.
Following its release last year, Starfield was regularly updated with new features and content, the latest of which was the Creation Club. The first big expansion, Shattered Space, will launch later this year and will allow players to experience a new story set on a single planet around the size of Fallout 4’s Far Harbor expansion, which requires around 15 hours to complete.
Starfield is now available on PC, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. You can learn more about the game by checking out my review.
