Music fans who haven’t yet subscribed to Disney+ now have a new incentive to sign up: free access to the streaming service for up to six months via Amazon Music Unlimited.
The new promotion from Amazon, announced on Monday, gives former and current US and Canadian subscribers to Amazon’s ad-free music service three months of Disney+ for free. New subscribers to Amazon Music Unlimited, however, will receive six months of free Disney+. (If you already subscribe to Disney+, you’re out of luck.)
This is one of the only ways to try out Disney+ for free these days. Ahead of the launch of Hamilton last summer, Disney+ ended its free trial offer so Broadway fans wouldn’t sign up and then cancel en masse. The only other option at the moment is via Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, where subscribers can get a 30-day free Disney+ trial.
If you haven’t checked out Disney’s foray into the streaming world, now’s the time, as the company plans to add hundreds of new titles and content from Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, and more in the coming years, including Black WidowBlack Widow.
Disney+ users should expect to pay $7.99 per month after the promotion ends (or $79.99 annually), unless they cancel. The streaming service also offers a bundle with ad-supported Hulu and ESPN+ for $13.99 per month (or $19.99 per month for Hulu with no ads).
Amazon Music Unlimited ($8 a month or $80 annually) is separate from Amazon Prime Music, which comes bundled with an Amazon Prime subscription. Amazon Music Unlimited’s library offers over 75 million songs and podcasts, while Prime only offers around 2 million.
