- SuperGaming’s Indus has opened pre-registrations on Apple
- The title has already accumulated 11 million pre-registrations on Android
Indian video games developer SuperGaming has opened up pre-orders for battle royale Indus on iOS, following 11 million pre-registrations on Android.
Infused with Indian culture and increasingly optimised to support lower-end devices, Indus continually aims to meet player demands and broaden accessibility “without compromising on quality”. That broadening will soon encompass Apple devices, with this expanded mobile launch scheduled for October 25th, 2024.
By pre-ordering the “Indo-Futuristic” game now, iOS users will be eligible for exclusive access to a closed beta and will receive exclusive rewards at full launch.
From Android to Apple and all across India
Indus is built upon SuperGaming’s in-house SuperPlatform which will be used to host playtests in Indore, Chennai, and Kochi. These tests will allow SuperGaming to gather player feedback and further refine the battle royale.
SuperPlatform is also available to other publishers and has been used by Bandai Namco to release Pac-Man on mobile in India as well as SuperGaming’s own Battle Stars.
Speaking with PocketGamer.biz, SuperGaming CEO Roby John shared the origins of an idea for Indus and the “glaring omission” in the battle royale genre. More recently, he revealed the design decisions behind “Indo-Futurism” and the importance of esports in the game’s future plans for success.
“We looked at building Indus to be inclusive to all kinds of audiences and all kinds of gamers. It’s similar to how games like Fortnite have different kinds of people playing, be it casually, competitively or even using features like the Creator Mode,” John said.
“The time is right for an Indian epic on a global scale. We should be the first to tell our story to the world through the most interactive medium on the planet.”
Naturally, the coming expansion from Android to Apple hardware should further Indus’ scale in time for full launch.
