It’s the most wonderful time of the year. No, not Christmas, it’s the Super Bowl! Not only do we get football and a halftime show performance, but so many commercials–and even some trailers for the most anticipated movies and TV shows that are in the works.
Each year, companies spend massive amounts of money to put their best promotional foot forward with a slew of interesting Super Bowl commercials. Some of them are amazing, some of them are terrible, but regardless we’ll all be talking about them for the next few days.
If you weren’t able to watch the Super Bowl, got distracted at some point in the game, or simply want to rewatch your favorites, take a look at the very best Super Bowl trailers and commercials below. What was your favorite ad to air during the big game? Sound off in the comments.
Trailers
Nope
The first trailer for Jordan Peele’s next horror movie has arrived and even though we aren’t exactly sure what’s going on, it’s pretty terrifying. It looks a lot like this one will deal with aliens and if we have learned anything from Peele’s previous movies, the director is going to have a unique take on the concept.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
The first full look at the next Doctor Strange movie (not including the preview during the Spider-Man: No Way Home credits) gives away way more than expected about the movie. It seems Strange is really screwing reality up this time–which leads to an important question from Wanda. Why is he considered a hero when he does it, but she’s a villain?
Jurassic World Dominion
Sure, we got this trailer early but it’s exactly what every Jurassic Park/World fan needed. The original Jurassic Park trio are reunited and in the middle of all of the action, alongside Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. That hopefully means we get more Laura Dern hanging out with dinosaurs.
Moon Knight
It doesn’t look like there was any new footage in this look at Moon Knight. But it does keep us excited about the upcoming Disney+ series.
Netflix
Did you know Netflix makes movies? Based on this preview of the streaming service’s slate, they have a lot on top for 2022 and it’s all very star-studded.
Commercials
Skechers
Country music icon Willie Nelson has been trying to “legalize it” for years. Now we know the “it” in question is Skechers shows, which were never illegal. Never change, Willie.
Porsche/Top Gun: Maverick
It’s half Porsche commercial and half trailer for Top Gun 2. It’s not a proper trailer and doesn’t really reveal anything new, but it’s still got us excited.
BMW
BMW sure knows how to sell their all electric car. All you have to do is dress up Arnold Schwarzenegger as Zeus, add Salma Hayek to the mix, and let the jokes follow.
Squarespace
This ad tells us that Zendaya sells seashells online under a fake name.
Booking.com
Idris Elba uses Booking.com to talk to Isaiah Mustafa (the Old Spice guy) and Jonathan Goldsmith (the Dos Equis guy) about doing a commercial. If you are unfamiliar with either of these commercial actors, this advert may be a bit lost on you.
Flamin’ Hot Doritos and Cheetos
A group of animals are in the forest beatboxing the song “Push It” by Salt-N-Pepa, with a bunch of Flamin’ Hot chips nearby. What more could you want?
AT&T
Casting Ashton Kutcher’s wife, alongside his ex-wife, is a pretty fantastic idea. And the two play very well together in this ad where they both lose out on an award.
Amazon
Prepare for your Alexas devices at home to go off. Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost have issues with their Alexa devices after it learns to read their minds.
Hellmann’s
The best way to fight food waste is to tackle Pete Davidson? Seems reasonable.
Planet Fitness
A slew of celebrities show up in this Planet Fitness commercial, which focuses on Lindsay Lohan working out.
Kia
This is the better of the two commercials with robot dogs (sorry, Sam Adams). Of course, this one doesn’t have an actual robot dog in it, but a cute CGI robopup.
Lay’s
Seth Rogan and Paul Rudd remember some beautiful moments together that all revolve around Lay’s Potato Chips. Stay tuned until the end.
T-Mobile
T-Mobile leans hard into celebrities for its commercials during the Super Bowl. Whether it’s the musical between Scrubs stars Zach Braff and Donald Faison, or Dolly Parton being her best self with a special appearance by Miley Cyrus, they’re both big winners.
Bud Light Seltzer Hard Soda
The mayor of Flavortown is back, as a trio gets dragged into another world where Guy Fieri rules with an iron fist.
Rakuten
Hannah Waddingham–who you know from Ted Lasso–is playing one of the strangest poker games of all time in this commercial for Rakuten.
Irish Spring
Is Irish Spring an actual place? Why didn’t they tell us sooner?
Sam Adams
Robots from Boston Dynamics drink beer with a couple of guys with thick Bahwstahn accents. The dog-like robot isn’t as cool as Kia’s.
E*Trade
The E*Trade baby is back and it turns out he’s been living a Dexter-like existence off the grid since he retired as the company’s mascot.
Expedia
Ewan McGregor’s most important role is obviously as Obi-Wan Kenobi in the upcoming Obi-Wan Disney+ series. His second most important role? As the Expedia pitch man, of course!
Michelob Ultra
A group of the best athletes on the planet gathers at an exclusive bowling alley for a game, and all of them are scared of Serena Williams’ prowess–as it should be.
Chevrolet
Continuing the all-electric vehicle trend of the evening, Chevrolet channeled The Sopranos for a commercial starring Jamie-Lynn Sigler set to the show’s iconic theme.
Rocket Homes
Finally, Barbie and He-Man crossover in this Rocket Homes commercial starring Anna Kendrick.
Disney+
Awkwafina is the real GOAT and we all know it. Still, this commercial starring her and dozens of goats talking about all of the great stuff to watch on Disney+ is fun.
Verizon
We have officially entered the era of Cable Guy nostalgia. Jim Carrey reprises his role from the movie only to learn that cable is a thing of the past.
General Motors
Speaking of ’90s movie nostalgia, the gang is back together in this Austin Powers throwback of a General Motors commercial. The cast reprises their roles and we learn that Dr. Evil is a grandpa now.
