Silent Hill 4: The Room may not be as outdated as the previous entries in the series, but having been released almost 20 years ago, it would definitely do with a visual overhaul.
While Konami has only just started picking the series back up again, Maxim Dorokhov worked on a fanmade remake of the fourth entry in the franchise powered by Unreal Engine 5. While the fanmade remake is currently limited to Henry’s apartment, it is undeniable that its recreation looks stunning, with tons of detail that set it apart from the original and most UE5-powered titles available on the market.
As mentioned above, the Silent Hill franchise was on hiatus for a long time, but it’s now closer than ever to coming back into the spotlight with the remake of the second entry in the series. This remake, developed by Polish developer Bloober Team, will apparently release this year, as the game is in its polishing phase, and it has appeared in Sony’s latest PlayStation 5 hype trailer for 2024. As such, the marketing campaign should also begin soon, according to the developer’s CEO.
Depending on how the Silent Hill 2 remake sells, it wouldn’t be surprising to see remakes of the other main entries in the future. So, while there’s nothing on the horizon, there could be a time when Silent Hill 4: The Room could have the high-quality visuals seen in the fanmade remake.
