A new The Witcher 3 mod that is now available for download online introduces more ray tracing optimizations that bring performance improvements with ray-traced global illumination and ambient occlusion.
The Faster Ray Tracing If No RT Shadows Nor RT Reflections mod, which can be downloaded from Nexus Mods, does exactly what its name suggests, as it brings up to 5% performance improvements with ray-traced global illumination and ambient occlusion. The mod works fine with the Optimized Ray Tracing mod as well since they change different settings.
Improves ray tracing performance by up to 5% in challenging places like Heirarch square (more in some configurations). For use only with Ray-traced global illumination and ambient occlusion, not RT Shadows/Reflections.
While dedicated modders are continuing to improve the game with unofficial fixes, CD Projekt Red is working on a new The Witcher 3 PC hotfix that will address the performance drops introduced in the next-gen version’s first major update. Other issues are also under investigation and will likely be addressed with future updates.
The Witcher 3 updated next-gen version is now available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S worldwide. The game’s base version, which is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, will receive the new content and gameplay improvements included in the new release in the future.
