Microsoft Flight Simulator has been widely praised for the one-of-a-kind experience it offers, and Thrustmaster is set to enhance that experience even further with an officially licensed Boeing controller.
As Polygon reports, pre-orders are expected to go live today for the Thrustmaster TCA Yoke Pack Boeing Edition. It’s compatible with both Xbox and PC versions of the game, and offers a pendular yoke and throttle quadrant system on a 100% metal frame. The one-to-one replica is straight out of a Boeing 787 and includes adjustable springs that allow for the resistance to be changed to personal preferences.
The throttle quadrant levers can be swapped, and proprietary H.E.A.R.T magentic technology allows for 16-bit resolution “surgical precision.” There are two additional axes to support a number of varied standalone maneuvers including “the ability to directly take off without having to use a throttle quadrant.” Boeing autopilot is included to allow for realistic control of an aircraft’s altitude, airspeed, and heading. Thrustmaster also points out that the rotary knob was inspired by the Boeing Dreamliner throttle quadrant.
Such a high-quality controller certainly isn’t cheap and will ultimately prove hard to get. When pre-orders go live today, expect to pay $499.99 and be left waiting for your delivery until Dec. 23. Stock is sure to be both limited and in high demand, so luck will play a role in securing one. And if you want an extra throttle quadrant, that’s an additional $149.99.
