A new Tomb Raider RTX Remix comparison video was shared online a few hours ago, highlighting the massive visual differences brought to the first entry in the series by path tracing.
The comparison video, which was put together by Cycu1, does an excellent job highlighting how much path tracing improves the iconic game, even with its dated textures. The best thing about the RTX Remix mod is that it was developed without the improved tools offered by the open beta released earlier this week, so there’s a very good chance visuals will further improve down the line.
The Tomb Raider RTX Remix mod, called Open Lara RTX: Reimagined, has been in development for over six months and finally received a playable demo this week, allowing users to check out the incredible tech by NVIDIA that is set to breathe new life into many classic titles. You can learn more about it by checking out our interview with Product Manager Nyle Usman.
Although it is no Tomb Raider RTX Remix, the first entry in the series is coming back to consoles next month alongside its immediate sequels. Alongside improved visuals and additional control options, the remasters will include additional content expansions that were added to the base games after release.
