We first heard about a new Top Spin game a couple of years ago when Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier revealed that it was in development at Hangar 13. The studio inherited some of the members of 2K Czech, who developed the latest franchise entry. Today, Remi Ercolani, Gaming Director at Hangar 13, said:
It has been several years since the last iteration of TopSpin and we’re proud to introduce TopSpin 2K25 while the popularity of tennis is at its peak. TopSpin 2K25 captures the spirit and the culture of the sport, offering deep personalization and enhanced gameplay. The team and I are proud to share TopSpin 2K25 with the world and look forward to seeing players enjoy the game.
Top Spin 2K25 features 48 unique courts, including 15 real-life venues, such as the four Grand Slam tournaments and arenas like Indian Wells. Outdoor venues also offer the option of three different times of day to play. Users will find 24 playable pros, including tennis legends Roger Federer, Andre Agassi, and Serena Williams and current stars such as Carlos Alcaraz, Iga Świątek, and Frances Tiafoe.
The game supports a range of modes, starting with MyCAREER, where players will strive to become a Grand Slam Champion as an up-and-coming pro. In the TopSpin Academy, they’ll learn how to play with tennis legend John McEnroe, who will put them through a series of skill-sharpening drills and challenges to gain an edge on every surface.
Online, players will be able to choose between using a playable pro in the 2K Tour or selecting their own MyPLAYER character for the World Tour. MyPLAYER options include tailoring your unique playstyle, fine-tuning your character’s attributes, customizing their look, and earning new Coaches, Fittings, and gear from leading sports brands.
Lastly, 2K is promising a great soundtrack for Top Spin 2K25. The trailer embedded above features the exclusive debut of Dillon Francis’ remix of Fall Out Boy’s “Heartbreak Feels So Good.” The song will be available for streaming on all platforms this Friday, March 15.
