There is no shortage of good power banks in the market, and every day, we see something new. I recently reviewed the mighty Shargeek 170, which is capable of delivering 170W of output and is one of the most impressive power banks I have used in a long, long time. However, carrying a massive power bank with us at all times is not something that is always ideal for a lot of reasons.
Power banks are big and heavy, and can easily take a lot of space in our bags. Sometimes, you need something small enough that fit in your pocket and this is where the Ugreen 10,000 and 5,000 mAh power magnetic wireless charging power banks come into play as they are small enough to fit in your pockets and provide enough battery to get you out of a tough spot where you are running out of power.
These Ugreen power banks make excellent everyday carry that can power up your device with ease
Ugreen was kind enough to send both of these power banks. Since they are similar in every way other than the capacity, I am going to focus on the one that has 10,000 mAh as it suits me better with the Galaxy S24 Ultra. Now, I do have to mention that either of these power banks are by no means a full replacement for other power banks with higher capacities. Those are great if you are okay with carrying a bigger device in your bag or if you are out for longer days. But if you are just looking to power up your device to get out of a rut, then this is definitely something that you should be looking into.
There is nothing extraordinary about the way Ugreen packages these power banks. if you are familiar with their products, you would know what to expect and honestly, I don’t really mind that. The power banks come with a USB Type-C to Type-C cable and that is about it. There is nothing else in the box aside from some documentation but that should not really be an issue for you. The back of the box has all the useful information that you would want in case you are looking for technicaltiies.
Taking the Ugreen power bank out of the box shows the power bank in a soft-touch wrapper, and that is about it. There is a whtie cable with it that is just the right length, so you really don’t have to worry about anything else. Given the more affordable nature of this power bank, you should not expect a braided cable, and honestly, I don’t really mind. This power bank does MagSafe compatiblity with wireless charging as well, so that is what most people will be preferring.
Honestly, I would have preferred if Ugreen had sent this in black but this slighly off-white color is not too bad, eitther. The top of the power bank has a soft touch with no roughness in it, with the bottom part being your standard plastic. I would say that the build, the fit and finish is utilitarian at best and that is not a bad thing, by any means. This piower bank is made to get the job done, which it does just fine.
While this power bank is not going to win any awards for the way it looks, how does it perform as that is the most important aspect of any charging device. While it won’t win any charging speed awards but if you are looking for something that is always with you as a backup, this defintley is something that gets the job done. The Ugreen power bank can charge your device wirelessly or with wire. It offers 20W max wired charging and 15W max wireless charging. It is not going to charge your phone wth super-fast speeds but if you are coming home after a day out and you want something that can keep your phone alive and powered on, then this is defintely something that you should go with.
One thing that I would like to point out is that the power bank does get hot when you are charging and using your device at the same time. Especially when you have it connected wirelessly. It does not get uncomfortably hot but it does cause the power bank to drain faster and the phone to charge slower, but that is normal with most of hte power banks of this nature.
The Ugreen magnetic wireless charging power banks are excellent companions for you if you are looking for a backup device that can power up your phone and get you out of a situation where you might not have another charging solution. It’s not meant to replace the power banks with larger capacity and that is something that even Ugreen knows about. I would have loved differrent color and a slightlyy faster charging speed but what it delivers is more than enough to keep your device running in situations where you need to have your device up and running.
