Unreal Engine 5 cloud infrastructure provider Universal Foundry has launched its Compute Grant to support solo and small indie developers.
The grant is open to small teams developing games with Unreal Engine 5.3 or newer. It covers the cost of Universal Foundry services, which starts at $950 per month but may vary based on usage. The offer is open to teams aiming to launch games in 2025 or 2026 on mobile, console and PC.
Universal Foundry will also provide select teams with free access to Horde’s continuous integration cloud infrastructure to support their game launches.
Applications are open until May 30th, 2025, on the Universal Foundry website here. Grant recipients will be notified by June 30th, 2025.
Supporting developers
“Having previously founded a game studio, I understand first-hand how important working with great tools is for a game’s timely launch and for team retention,” said Universal Foundry CEO and co-founder Albert Reed.
“Epic has provided developers with amazing cloud-based tools including Horde but it’s up to teams to deploy and operate these tools themselves.
“We built Universal Foundry to help teams work more efficiently – allowing them to focus on making great games and on releasing them faster, instead of managing servers.”
