New Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Nextgen Edition gameplay footage was shared online this week, providing a new look at the unofficial remaster’s new mechanics and visuals.
The new footage, shared on YouTube a few days ago by Revolution Team, the team behind the mod that aims to recreate the classic entry in the series in GTA V’s Rage Engine, showcase the All Hand on Deck! mission, complete with some new mechanics not found in the original. With the visuals keeping their unique flair even in their updated version, it looks like the Nextgen Edition will be the true definitive edition of the classic open-world game by Rockstar Games.
As mentioned above, the Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Nextgen Edition total conversion mod will recreate Vice City in its entirety in GTA V’s Rage Engine. The mod will include all of the original game’s story content, improved visuals and additional fixes, including those introduced in the game’s Definitive Edition, which altogether left something to be desired, as highlighted by Nathan in his review.
Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition collects some truly groundbreaking games that still provide their share of nostalgic fun, but little has been done to make them shine here in 2021. Ultimately, a shoddy visual upgrade, choppy performance, and a lack of meaningful updates or extras may leave you questioning why you loved them in the first place. Perhaps this collection can be brought up to snuff with updates from Rockstar (or modders), but for now, its Wanted Level remains low.
