Amazon has confirmed that its annual shopping holiday, Prime Day, will take place on Oct. 13-14. The company is promising “more than one million deals” from brands like Panasonic, Roborock, Keurig, Under Armour, and more in all of its top categories.
Prime Day officially begins at midnight PT on Tuesday, October 13 and runs through Wednesday, October 14, for Prime members in the US, UK, UAE, Spain, Singapore, Netherlands, Mexico, Luxembourg, Japan, Italy, Germany, France, China, Canada, Belgium, Austria, Australia, Turkey, and Brazil. But if you can’t wait that long, Amazon is kicking off the savings early.

Prime Day Credits
Perhaps aware of its position as an e-commerce behemoth that is not exactly beloved by mom and pop shops, Amazon is making a push for small businesses during this year’s Prime Day. Today through Oct. 12, Prime members will get a $10 credit if they shop at select small businesses with Amazon stores. Amazon will highlight businesses where you can nab the $10 credit via amazon.com/supportsmall. Tech-focused shops include Cozyphones, which sells headband-shaped headphones for kids and adults.

Past Prime Day Deals
In 2019, top-selling items included the Echo Dot, Fire TV Stick with Alexa Voice Remote, and Fire TV Stick 4K with Alexa Voice Remote. Customers also snapped up touch-screen Echo devices, while rock-bottom prices helped the Fire 7 tablet fly off digital shelves.
We also saw parents grab the Echo Dot Kids Edition, Fire 7 Kids Edition tablet, and Fire HD 8 Kids Edition tablet, something we might see happen again in 2020 with so many kids doing school at home.
Smart home devices were also popular, including the iRobot Roomba 690 Robot Vacuum, MyQ Smart Garage Door Opener Chamberlain MYQ-G0301, and Amazon Smart Plug.
Buy It on Prime Day or Wait for Black Friday?
If you’ve been eyeing an Amazon-made product and you spot a good deal on Prime Day, grab it. Amazon will probably have Black Friday deals too, but Prime Day is its day to shine, so it’ll probably reserve the best deals for its own sale.
Black Friday and Cyber Monday have in recent years become a months-long extravaganza that kicks off on Oct. 1. If you see something you want on Prime Day, buy it. If you don’t, or you miss your chance, Black Friday or Cyber Monday will likely provide, so don’t stress out about it. There are bigger things to worry about in 2020. Add that instant pot, robo vac, or smart speaker to your cart and don’t look back.
