Not only is there the pre-expansion update coming soon to World of Warcraft, but the actual expansion itself isn’t far away at all. For those looking forward to the new expansion, The War Within will arrive at World of Warcraft on 26 August. Preparing for The War Within Pre-patch
If you like to farm for mounts or achievements, some will be much harder to get once Dragonflight has passed and The War Within has arrived.
- Complete World of Warcraft: Dragonflight’s campaign. If you care about the story, ensuring you are all up to date on the campaign is vital. It’ll help fill in the gaps about the Primalists and help you prepare for the upcoming story of The War Within.
- Run Raids and Mythic+ Dungeons. If possible, you want to be as geared up as possible when you begin to walk through the pre-patch. Some of the enemies may be overtuned, which can make brutal fights even harder. Having a good gear level will help massively with that.
- Try out some PvP. If you’ve never done PvP, now is a great time to get stuck. You can get PvP-specific gear, collect currencies, and exchange them for mounts and titles if you are prepared for a lengthy grind. Keep in mind that you don’t have long to complete these things.
- Level up your Professions. While this may seem like something that isn’t important, it can help boost your character. Not only can you get potions that will buff you, but you can then go on to complete Standing Orders for other people to earn some quick gold. There are plenty of professions to choose from, and many of them are highly beneficial, especially in the late game.
- Complete Non-Awakened Raids. At the moment, the three Raids in Dragonflight are classed as non-awakened. Once the patch has gone live, these raids will be permanently awakened, meaning you may find it harder to obtain the raid-specific gear and cosmetics you would have gotten from completing them while they were in a non-awakened state.
- Grind Renown levels. If you like to grind reputation levels with different factions, grinding Renown is perfect. Not only does it give you access to great cosmetics, it can also allow you to unlock mounts and other gear that you may find beneficial on your World of Warcraft journey.
There is plenty still left to do in World of Warcraft, and it’s entirely up to you what you choose to do with the time before The War Within pre-patch arrives. Remember, you only have until July 23 to complete all of the time-gated content from Dragonflight before The War Within comes crashing in.
