The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is not just one of the best Switch games, it’s one of the greatest all-time games. The follow-up to the similarly incredible Breath of the Wild expanded the open world to stretch above and below Hyrule and introduced brilliant new building and physics systems. With Link’s Ultrahand ability, you can manipulate objects and cobble together vehicles, bridges, and other contraptions. Breath of the Wild already offered an impressive degree of freedom, but Tears of the Kingdom takes it a step further. There’s no one “right” way to solve the game’s many clever puzzles, and that’s what makes this sprawling adventure so thoroughly engaging for many dozens, if not hundreds, of hours.
