A document with questions and answers that Apple is alleged to have sent out to mobile operators shows that dual SIM cards do not work with 5G on iPhone 12.
A user on Reddit has shared what is claimed to be a document with questions and answers about 5G on iPhone 12 that Apple has sent to mobile operators. Macrumors claims to have confirmed the document’s authenticity.
Most of the questions are quite mundane and the answers are obvious to those interested in technology, but one question about using the iPhone with dual sim cards and 5G could be of concern.
According to the answer, 5G data will not be available if you use dual SIM cards, regardless of whether one or both subscriptions support 5G technology. However, if you manually set the phone to use only one card, it will be able to use 5G.
The Reddit user who shared the document claims that an update later this year will activate 5G support for dual SIM cards, this information is apparently included in an internal training document for Apple staff that the Reddit user does not have access to.
